Ichor is a progressive metal band formed by two students of Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in 2003. In the 4 years since its inception, it has become one of the most successful college bands in North-Eastern India.

The band was formed in IIT Guwahati, in October 2003 by guitarist Abhinav Singh (batch of 2007) and drummer Varun Choudhary(batch of 2008). Abhinav is presently a final year B.Tech student in Electronics and Communication Department of IIT Guwahati while Varun is in the pre-final year of his Mechanical Engineering at IIT Guwahati.

In due course of time, many pass outs of the college also joined the band. N.A Krishna (batch of 2006) was vocalist for the band till 2006, before he decided to go for higher studies in the US. Tanuj Kush (batch of 2006), another member who will be missed for many reasons was rhythm guitarist of the band till 2006. He is presently working for a multinational company in Bangalore. Varadraj(batch of 2006), the bass guitarist for the band till 2006 is presently working for Schlumberger. Various other alumni of the institute influenced the band and joined it for many concerts in and out of IIT Guwahati. Most of the influences and guidance came from Soumitra Bhat (batch of 2005), who was the lead guitarist of the IIT Guwahati band Smash before it was transformed and baptised as Ichor by present members. The band was also joined by Sidhartha Gupta (batch of 2006) and Mohan Rajasekar (batch of 2006) for various gigs within the college.
